JOB FUNCTION: Encourage new employee success and retention by training, supporting, and developing new employees in the processes, tasks, and culture of Bell Labs. RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES: 1. You are required to punch in 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift to ensure adequate communication for shift start up. 2. Provide on-the-line support to new and temporary employees learning the Packer position through training and demonstration of proper methods/techniques to effectively complete job tasks as directed by the EHS & Training Manager 3. Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to new and temporary employees in order to motivate them, build their confidence, and help them to succeed in their job and role. 4. Collaborate/liaise with the Trainer in assessing the progress of new and temporary employees to determine training needs; keep open lines of communication with shift supervision with regard to employee performance. 5. Ensures all new and temporary employees understand and follow Bell Safety rules and guidelines. 6. Conduct orientations for new temporary employees in the event the production trainer is unable 7. Conduct training as directed by the EHS & Training Manager. 8. Assist shift coordinators in line set-ups and other tasks when needed if there are no other training/mentoring needs of a higher priority. 9. Perform duties as a team member by assisting coworkers as needed. 10. Help maintain efficiency on the shift at the direction of Production Supervision. 11. Perform overtime and other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent is required. EXPERIENCE One to two years previous manufacturing experience is required, experience at Bell is preferred. Training experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES General knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Production standards. Excellent attention to detail and verbal communication skills required. Basic math skills are required. Flexibility, initiative and teamwork are required. Must be able to follow directions exactly, and be flexible in daily duties. EQUIPMENT OPERATED Pallet jack (electric and manual), Tape machine, Bottle filler, Tube filler, Speedee filler, Inkjet machine, pallet wrapper, various scales, cartoning, labeling, and assembly equipment, Auto-bagger, mop, bucket, broom, dustpan, and shop vacuum. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently/100 pounds occasionally is required.
